When noting the difference between Jon Weinstein and Maryann Maher, remember that Ms. Maher had big donations from out of state early in her candidacy: $8,000 (Puerto Rico [2 donations, see below]), $4,000 (Miami, FL), $7,000 (Dominican Republic [2 donations of $3,500]), and $3,700 (Quebec), which totals $22,700 just from outside of Maryland alone.
What I'm most curious about are two $4,000 donations from "Rafael Valez-Dominguez" and "Rafael Valez," noting two different addresses in Puerto Rico. Hmm, either Rafael Valez is a very popular name in the PR or there is some monkey business going on...because as we all know you can only donate $4,000 to one campaign finance entity per four year cycle and this would appear to suggest that Ms. Maher received two from Mr. Valez.
