Just a Little Bit to the Right

The Maryland Republican Assembly issued its 2010 Endorsement List and it is...interesting.

The first thing that jumps off the page is their endorsement of Charlie...ahem...Brian Murphy.  Republicans have very strong feelings about Brian.  They either think he is the savior of a party that has lost its way, or a young upstart that is dividing the party at a time when all good elephants should be holding hands.  I honestly can't tell you where I stand on the guy, other than the fact that he knows how to pander.

Locally, the endorsements go as follows:

David “Augie” Aughenbaugh, Albert Nalley, Delegate District 12a
Ed Priola and J’Neanne Theu, Delegate District 13 (three member) -- Evidently the endorsement does not go so far as to suggest that they know how to spell her name.
Kyle Lorton, Senate District 13

I am confused by the omission of Robert Wheatley, Warren Miller, and Gail Bates.  Any party stalwarts care to explain?

UPDATE: As Dave Wissing, candidate for GOP Central Committee, explains below, the Assembly only makes endorsements for "competitive primaries."
