Sure enough, the second round of primary endorsements from Patuxent came through this morning. They are as follows:
County Council District 4: Mary Kay Sigaty over Alan Klein
"As the chief architect of the legislation that enables the General Growth Properties plan to go forward, Sigaty refutes Klein's criticisms point by point. While only the passage of years will truly tell us how valid those criticisms are, Sigaty clearly has done her homework on this issue. It's just as clear that she has a better handle on budget issues and the bigger development picture countywide. Sigaty gets our endorsement."
Looks like not reading the budget may have bit him in the rear.
Delegate District 12B: Liz Bobo over John Bailey
"Third-term incumbent Elizabeth Bobo, facing a primary challenge from recently converted Republican John Bailey, earns our endorsement. A staunch Democrat, Bobo nonetheless has no compunction about bucking party leadership to vote her conscience. Particularly in matters of campaign-finance reform, election reform and transparency in government, hers has been a voice of refreshing integrity."
I would describe it more as "a voice from the left side of the leftists", but to each their own. With all that reform work, you think she would pay more attention to making sure all campaign contributions were accounted for outside of blanket "lump sum" donations. I love transparency in government, but I don't see that same passion from Delegate Bobo.
