While the rest of us guess at who we think is going to run for what, those sitting in elected office just look at the "report cards" -- Campaign Finance Reports. It is a matter of pride. When there are no ballots to be counted, it is the only way they can tell whether they are the "bestest elected representative in the whole wide world" or just running on fumes from the last ballot. Well, the numbers are in, and they are worth sharing:
Courtney Watson raised $165,713 during the reporting period with $171,709 in the bank.
Calvin Ball raised $91,733 during the reporting period with $116,570 in the bank.
Allan Kittleman raised $78,914 during the reporting period with $62,823 in the bank.
I've heard from multiple folks that the data entry interface went haywire during the last day of the reporting period, which would explain why some prominent hoco politicians (i.e., Guzzone, Sigaty, Terrasa) do not have reports available online.
All the same, anyone who predicted that this was Guy's race to lose would have to respect Courtney's showing at this early stage.
